Permits can be acquired at the ranger station on the way to the boulders from the upper Tramway station.
Description
Tucked away at the ridge of the canyon, this boulder offers a couple moderates if you're looking for something more to do in the canyon. Exposure at the top of the ridge means that the climbs on the East face would probably fare better in the afternoon or evening.
Getting There
This boulder is accessible both from the trail going up to Shangri La Valley, or through Kung Fu Canyon.
If approaching from the main trail, turn right into the approach for Shangri La and continue up that path for approximately 200 feet. From here, cross the small dry creek bed and continue up the other side for another 200 feet. The boulder should be facing you and is directly underneath a Y-shaped tree.
If approaching from Kung Fu Canyon, walk up the canyon for about 150 feet until you pass the Almost Boulder. From here begin angling up the hill to your right towards the Y-shaped tree at the ridge, after ascending 100 or so feet up the hill, you should see the boulder directly ahead of you.
