"The trail around the south side of Mt. Erie (aka trail No. 247) has been reopened. The access to the Sunrise Trail off of trail #247 is also reopened. Please remember that trail No. 247 crosses three sections of private property. We are grateful for the cooperation of our neighbors that allows us to reopen this trail for public use, please respect their privacy as you enjoy the trail." - Anacortes Parks Department 6/3/14

Description
A dirty, vegetated cliff band along the seldom used West Buttress trail. This long, fractured wall is rather secluded in the trees just above Nelson's wall.
Watch for ticks and toxic plants!

Getting There
Park at the bottom lot, and hike up, turning left on trail 247. Walk until just before New Millenium wall, and turn right onto a small trail. This is the West Buttress trail. You will see Nelson's wall on your right. Keep heading left and upwards steeply, climbing left of another small craglet (Tarheel crag) breaking right directly above that at a fork (going left eventually brings you to the mountaineer's wall)
