The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.

Description

The Bike Path Boulders are two or three superb boulders lying in the forest along the bike path. These boulders are very new and already are some of the most popular in CCC. There is potential for more boulders around too.

Getting There

From the Catslab parking lot (Tunnel 5), hike about 300 yards up the paved bike path until the first major bend, and locate a small valley that leads up and right off the path and into the trees. There is a fairly easy to spot trail that should be marked with cairns.
