Description
Tall cliff with a few multi-pitches ,including the classic 'Chi vuol essere lieto...lieto sia'. with a spicy approach, nice ocean views, and a top out near the not-soo-beautiful bunker. Very close to Pilastro Striate, but with a different approach as they don't connect at the bottom. And Striate don't have no bunker hmph.
Getting There
Warning: Approach is steep, a bit sketchy and slippery, and takes about 30 minutes.
Part at the last turn before the fort in a small gravel area with a bench, picnic table, hiking trails map, and sign-pole covered in climbing pictures.
GPS Coordinates: 44°03'26.8"N 9°49'39.8"E
Walk down the small trail leading away from the road (1a) for about 5 minutes, then just as you can see the 'bunker' ahead (about 75' before it) turn right down a steep trail with a fixed cord. Carefully descend following the trail and fixed ropes down, which eventually becomes just a scamble down some steepish rock slabs with the slight possibility of tumbling down into the ocean if you slip. Near the bottom you encounter two steel cables, the first leading down and to the right (accesses a different cliff), and about 20' down and to the left from where that starts is another cable heading down and left. Follow the left one down a few more steeps with steel cables and fixed cords - from here to access the (3) routes see there individual descriptions.
