Access Issue: Restricted Wilderness Details

Description

Reyes Peak (7,514ft) is the tallest point along Pine Mountain and the entry point to the high country of the Sespe Wilderness. Haddock Peak is about 100’ lower in elevation.

Places west of the Reyes Peak summit (toward the parking) are generally fine for sport climbing. Area’s east of the Reyes Peak summit are highly restricted and sport climbing is not allowed. The entire north side is protected wilderness. Sport routes installed on Reyes Peak, beyond the wilderness boundary, should be made compliant.

Unlike Reyes Peak, Haddock Peak is entirely in the Sespe Wilderness. Please respect this area. Sport routes installed beyond Reyes Peak, in the Haddock area, will be removed.
