Description Suggest change

The North Cascades is home to a variety of traverses which range from basic mountaineering routes, to more serious technical routes. Examples include the Pickets Traverses (north, south, or compete); the classic Ptarmigan Traverse, the Isolation Traverse, Jagged Ridge traverse, etc.

Many of these not only make great objectives on their own, but offer approaches to remote peaks in the North Cascades.

I've noticed that there are a great many references to the Ptarmigan Traverse for individual routes on other pages, but the traverse itself did not have a page. Given that it covers many already established areas, I thought to develop an area so there is a reference point for not only the Ptarmigan, but all these traverses. I noticed Torment-Forbidden is already taken care of, but the rest of these excellent routes in the North Cascades need a home.
