Description
5 minute hike from the turnoff to the Conroy Forest Service Road, this crag has lots of easy climbs and can be beginner-climber party central. There are plenty of moderate and more difficult climbs as well, but with its easy access, a high density of climbs in a nice flat belay area, the intro groups will be all over this space for years to come (and with good reason).
East and west facing walls along the belay area make for lots of climbing options in and out of the sun. The East side faces west (sun in the afternoon), and is mostly slabby routes 5.8 and under with one 5.9. The West side faces east (shade in the afternoon), and has mostly 5.10 and harder routes, with one or two easier. If you can get here on a quiet day you can shuffle your rope bag easily down the line of several dozen climbs. It's all sport, and it's all fairly well & generously bolted, though there have been some reports of bolts (I believe anchors) popping on people recently (May 2019). Bring a wrench and pay attention.
Walk a few dozen meters on a trail past the main area to reach Frontside 180, a fantastic multipitch outing of 3 well-bolted and featured pitches each in 3 tiers of rock that brings you to a scenic summit.
