Description
Upstream end of Carderock near the Vaso Island Crossing. A major bend in the river has exposed resilient blunt faces of shist. Less visited than the rest of Carderock, Outlook Rocks is a good place to get away from the crowds and onto less traveled rock. Adventure top roping and bouldering on decent, short lines is name of the game. As the rocks rise of out of the river, access is more difficult, isolating the sub-sectors. Check out the open face of Nose that Blows, the moderate corner of Jackknife or the hard boulders around Stannard’s Playground. A quiet place on the river.
