Description
Elsie the Cow features a beautiful North facing wall with a handful a beautiful cracks. Chances are you won't be waiting in line to get on the classic Rollins Route. Even though this serene wall is only a three minute walk from Warpaint it seems to have gone overlooked. The granite is quite clean save for some lichen/moss down low. The summit of this dome does bear a resemblance to the "famous bovine" Elsie, also kinda looks like a dragon.
Getting There
To get to Rollins Route and Cochise goes to Chicago hike up toward the Coati Corner from the start of Warpaint. Before going all the way up to Coati Corner angle downhill through some dead branches and a tree and then boulder hop to the start of the Rollins Route (also a decent place to start Cochise goes to Chicago). From Warpaint it should take about 3 minutes to get to the start of the Rollins Route and about 60 seconds from the Coati Corner.
