Description Suggest change

A one hundred foot dark colored escarpment that has big roofs separated by ledges. There is a broad selection of routes to choose from here, with a little bit for many different styles and abilities. This escarpment faces north and north east so it gets fantastic (summer) or horrific (winter) shade depending on the time of year you visit. The Belly Button is in the shade for the entire day where as the Muffin Tops go into the shade around high noon.  The black colored limestone is chisley and sharp, so be warned.

These routes are super green, so be prepared for grit, grime and some small loose stuff that I may have missed.

Getting There Suggest change

If you know you are wanting to climb at the Beer Bellies or the Phototropism Rock Band  right out of the parking area, it's better to cross the wash as soon as you leave the parking area. There is a cow trail on the opposite side of the wash that will allow for more efficient access of routes on the west side of the canyon.
