Description

A small venue on the quiet approach to the backside of the castle above the lake.

Around 4 routes on fairly nice looking limestone. Grade range likely 5+ to 6+. Mix of chain anchors with lower off biners.

Nice flat staging area at the base.

Gorgeous location with views of the lake and Blejski Otok (the island with the church).

The medieval castle Blejski Grad is purportedly the oldest in Slovenia dating to around 1011. Its commands a fine position above the lake.

Getting There

Park nearest the lake on its northeast side, and, hike the veslaška promenada trail along the north side of the lake shore.

Hike below and past the castle toward the Villa Zlatorog. Take a less travelled trail up towards the west side of the castle. Just before reaching the castle walls, the crag will come into view.

Allow around 25 minutes for the approach from the car park.
