Centennial Glen

International > Australia > New S Wales > Blue Mountains > Blackheath Area

Description

This area is the most popular sport climbing area in the Blue Mountains, possibly the country. With around 150 climbs ranging from 5.10 to 5.14b, all just a 5 minute walk away, it is not surprising. This area is home to many classics at various grades. Must do's include Rubber Lover 5.12b, Madge 5.12b, Junket Pumper 5.12a and Split Wave 5.11d.
Most of the climbs are 15 to 20m long on overhanging walls. The rock is excellent, but sharp. Bring your bouldering power and you should be fine.

Getting There

Park at the Centennial Glen carpark, see Shipley Upper. There is also a toilet here, use it. Same access point as Shipley. Once you reach the bottom of the stone steps turn right, Shipley is left. Follow this path around to the right, stay right don't take any left forks, past Hip Shake Jerk area, Junket Pumper area, under a waterfall, and Main Wall. Just past Main wall you can turn left, don't go up the stone steps, to access White Line Wall and Wave Wall.
