The original trailhead was closed after someone was electrocuted themselves while playing on the powerlines. Access to the cliff is now gained by parking in a nearby park and hiking through a trailer park. As yet there have been no known incidents as climbers hike through the trailer park however, please be respectful of residents and low key at all times. Please observe any posted no-trespassing signs if they show up.
Description
Prowler was my first project out at Conejo. After a dozen or so visits to the area I began to hear the call, "climb me, climb me!" from up on the hill. The alluring prow finally fell to my repeated onslaughts one day in May, I was so excited I called my dad. Michael has since added very good lines on the boulder in the creek on the way up to Prowler. This area doesn't offer many warmups for the area and are a bit hard to hit on the way back from the main area (usually pretty out of energy at the point you're walking past these stones again). That being said take a day to warm up and explore the secluded stones on this side of the valley, every line is unique and super fun. Good area if you want to boulder but don't have a full day. This and the Lost Gully can be linked into a super good running-bouldering circuit.
Getting There
After the red tractor go around the bend and then look up. There's a climber's trail next to the ravine that leads up to the obvious boulder up on the hillside. You pass Early Retirement and the awesome Karate Kid boulder in the ravine to get up there. About 5 minutes from the Mystery Boulders. Some seriously fun lines and good rock.
