Access Issue: Open, with restrictions
Details
The original trailhead was closed after someone was electrocuted themselves while playing on the powerlines. Access to the cliff is now gained by parking in a nearby park and hiking through a trailer park. As yet there have been no known incidents as climbers hike through the trailer park however, please be respectful of residents and low key at all times. Please observe any posted no-trespassing signs if they show up.
Description
AKA "The Machine Gun Nest". When Alex and I found this thing there was a solid little bunker built into the cave formed by the boulder leaning against the wall. While it was probably from some kids playing airsoft it's fun to imagine a lone desperado calling this area his camp while traveling to the lush Oxnard plain. Alex and I put up Mushroom Dance first and Michael came and scooped up the cool lines on the leaning block. Some bush wacking is required as there's no real trail out here but there isn't much poison oak so 'wack on. As always keep an ear out for rattlers.
Getting There
If you're looking at the Prowler Boulder look for the large ravine to the right of it; it's almost another set of hills. Look for a somewhat established trail straight up after walking past Prowler and Karate Kid. Follow this trail and traverse left (south west) a top the spines of rock that make up the ravine. Be on the look out for the boulder leaning on the nice slab. Slab is Mushroom Dance and leaning boulder to the left is the Lost Boulder. Check the photo for visual beta. The stones are way out there but way worth it.
