The original trailhead was closed after someone was electrocuted themselves while playing on the powerlines. Access to the cliff is now gained by parking in a nearby park and hiking through a trailer park. As yet there have been no known incidents as climbers hike through the trailer park however, please be respectful of residents and low key at all times. Please observe any posted no-trespassing signs if they show up.
Description
Ahh the Irish Boulders. With a healthy appetite for exploratory long distance running I found myself panting staring at this cluster of overgrown gems in the summer of 2015. After only a few hurried text messages and voicemails I recruited my friends Alex and Kyle to come help clear out all the broken beer bottles and broken car parts the high schoolers of days gone by dumped over the edge of the cliff. Soon we discovered the rock on this side of the hill benefited from the cycle of rain and fire so much so that the quality was completely different from the stone on the town-side of the hill. Such solid classics like Stellar Cellar, Manhunt in Space, Song of the Iron Horse, and The Prism all went up in less than a weeks time with little to no breakage to the original lines. The name "Irish Boulders" is a reference to an oldschool guidebook alluding to routes on the freeway side and only labeling the area "Ireland". To get to the Irish Boulders walk past the 24 Boulders and walk down the ravine underneath the northern-most power-lines accessible from Edison Rd.
