Description

Awesome free standing boulders right off trail 345. Pockets of great stone among the east facing foothills of Granite Mountain. The area gets sun in the morning but gets tons of shade once the sun climbs over and gets blocked by the mountain. Standout problem in the area is Rookie Stripes which gets shade most of the day.

Getting There

From Williamson Valley trailhead, take an immediate left paralleling Williamson Valley Road to the south. You will come to a 3-way trail junction at a gate a little over a mile in. Trend left through the gate and follow Trail 345 into Mint Wash. You will find a decent sized boulder right off the trail on the west side of the trail and the rest of the boulders are lurking nearby. In total the walk is about 2 miles one way and takes about 40 minutes.
