Shady and dry diorite.

The 2022 guide makes this wall more confusing than it should be. Currently Mountain Project is a better source.

Getting There

Park at the Main Wall trailhead with the info kiosk. Hike up trail 248 then take a right (East) at the intersection with trail 247. Continue along past the Main Wall turn off for some minutes and take the next left which is the East Buttress Trail. End of the Rope Crag is less than 100ft uphill from there and can be seen from trail 247.

[Hide Comment] The ability to walk up to set up a top rope is currently not available due to thoughtless rebolting on the crag. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. The page will be updated when the bolting is fixed.

Use caution on Shake and Bake, the second bolt was moved 3 feet to the left forcing you to climb off the original line. loose rock and moss are now a concern. Avoid climbing directly towards the second bolt and instead climb to the right to the top of a little ledge make a scary clip and risk the swing, then climb directly up the flake to the 3rd bolt. Again, hopefully this bolting will be fixed soon, until then use caution on route and wear a helmet even as a belayer. Page will be updated when bolting is fixed. Jun 15, 2019
