[Hide Comment] In an e-mail to me, Joe indicated that the "4 miles round trip" supposes that you're there early enough in the season to drive the 4.7 miles of the Success Pond road; which is not maintained for winter use. (His described parking is where you'd normally turn off Success Pond Rd and use high-clearance vehicle to drive another mile or so.)

The approach described: "....take the right fork,...500 ft cross a brook" seems to be the approach that initially heads for the "Lost Boyz Area", then follows along the cliff. This is the shortest approach to the "Yukon Gold" buttress, ( vs the longer approach to the October Sundae area) Jan 22, 2019
[Hide Comment] In November 06' I hiked Mt. Success via the Outlook and spotted tantalizing smears down the face of NBC. Thinking there was some good potential there, I returned with Alden Pellett in January to see what we would find. I knew that Success Pond Road was being plowed for logging operations at the time. We were lucky to find that they were logging all the way up to within a quarter of a mile of the base of NBC and the log landings were plowed. We were actually able to drive to within .5 miles of the base of the right side of the cliff at the time. Made for easy approaches. We did 4 or 5 routes on that trip and then came back and did a bunch more. Now that people are stoked up about NBC, maybe it's time to post them up.... Mar 18, 2019
