Description

The Sex Boulder is a hulking, house-sized block of bullet hard sandstone on the right side of the corridor that leads to The Invasion Wall. A mix of lines exist, and each aspect of the boulder has a different character. The grey rock on the downhill side contains a number of powerful routes, including the classic 5.11d A Fool and His Honey, whereas the gorgeous, gold and black streaked southeast face contains a handful of hard, thin face climbs. The uphill side is home to some more obscure but quality lines and some new bolts. There are some boulder problems in the area as well that warrant a mention, including the ultra-classic rail problem Ab Lounge (V9).

Getting There

The approach to The Sex Boulder is the same as the approach for The Invasion. Start down the trail, making a sharp left turn to head downhill. The Sex Boulder looms on the right hand side of the corridor as you approach The Invasion proper. The downhill side can be accessed by scrambling through some talus in a small corridor between two sections of the boulder. The southeast face can be accessed by continuing around the downhill side and walking up a thin, steep, and often muddy trail, or by squeezing through what at first appears to be an improbably small crack/chimney.
