Access Issue: PLACING BOLTS IS ILLEGAL IN THE SUPERSTITION WILDERNESS! Details
In the early '90's the USFS banned all placement of bolts in the Superstition Wilderness. This unfortunately includes replacement of existing bolts. Violating this ban may result in climbing restrictions on this beautiful area. Please think twice and go bolt somewhere else.
A series of towers that seem non-existent in the wrong light and stunning at that magic hour. Once located each individual tower and associated route get easier to identify. Crowds will not be an issue and the rock quality is fair but tends to shake, rattle and roll. Climb gently and enjoy the magic of the area.
Either park at the Cholla or Saguaro pullouts. Use the Treasure Loop Trail and hike as you would access The Hand. If you are familiar with Grandfather Hobgoblin you can use that and a large cave east of the Hobgoblin as a guide to the towers. From the Treasure Loop Trail various unnamed, "spider" trails will get you even closer to the towers until you have to bushwack your way to the base of your choice. From the parking lots plan on about a 45-minute hike to access the area.
