Hurricane Gorge

Utah > Southwest Utah > Saint George

Basalt cliffs along the Virgin River downstream from the Hurricane Bridge which spans the Virgin River between the cities of Hurricane and LaVerkin. State Route 9.  Further route development is on hold until proper access can be obtained and appropriate guidelines established.  Hopefully this information will be available soon.

Getting There

Park at the North Confluence Park trailhead in LaVerkin, Utah and walk up river below the basalt cliffs. It is .89 miles and about a 20 minute walk to the Swimming Hole Rock.  Other access points to the Confluence Park have parking issues.

[Hide Comment] Just climbed here a few days ago. Bolts up the routes seemed fine but most anchors need tightened. I meant to bring tools and forgot. If you plan to climb here soon, consider packing a wrench. Otherwise a fun little spot with great morning sun that heats up the basalt on an otherwise brisk morning. Nov 11, 2022
