Update on closure:

Local climbing organizations and other interested partners have been in consistent communication with the Park leadership since the closure in February, 2022. We have been able to hear the Park's concerns and are actively working towards a compromise to mitigate the risk. It is NOT the neighborhood. The rangers have received ZERO complaints from the community about climbers. Please do not harass them.
The concerns are:
-The approach and bolting on wildlife canyon negatively impacted the roosting of migrating wildlife. Wildlife sport routes have been non-negotiable for the rangers. Those will continue to be closed.
-Potential to damaging culturally sensitive areas.
-Environmental impact due to the multiple approach trails that people were creating.

The Park is still evaluating the approach trails to determine which trails are subject to closure.
Once we have more information from the rangers we will do our best to update the community.
