Description

Pedra do Picu is a rock summit in Serra da Mantiqueira, symbol of Itamonte.
There are a few multipitch routes, bolted and trad, with over 100m to a beautiful summit with amazing views.

Getting There

From Itamonte, take BR-354 up Serra da Mantiqueira.
Exit left into a dirtroad to Engenho de Serra neighborhood before Hostel Picus.
Take a left to cross a small bridge and park in front of old historical buildings.
The approach trail start inside private property on the right, up a pasture and into the woods.
Long approach with high elevation gain, 1 - 1 1/2 hour hike to the base. There's natural clean water up the trail.
Be friendly with locals, respect local rules and leave no trace. Don't leave gates opened.
