Description

Highest points of the state. Largest amount of legal roped climbing so far. Also lots of bouldering.

* Warren county

Key Climbing Locations:
* Kittatinny Ridge : High Point State Park, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (3 locations)
* Wawayanda State Park
* Allamuchy State Park

Rock types:
* Metaquartzite with a shale bed mixture, similar to the Shawangunks but layered differently, along the entire Kittatinny Ridge
* Crystalline granite in Allamuchy State Park on the East of the Appalachian lower ridgeline

Legal concerns

Climbing is generally not legally permitted on . . .
* Wildlife management areas of the state of New Jersey.

Seems obvious that the "climbing" prohibited includes Top-Roping or Lead-climbng using a rope. Some or most forms of bouldering would likely also fall under the prohibition.

Getting There

Interstate 80 goes through the southern part. NJ route 15 and 206 into middle. Interstate 84 near the northern end.
