Description

Cataract Gorge is a beautiful narrow gorge that has been carved out of the quartzite by Deer Creek. The gorge ends with a 200’ waterfall, which then flows into the start of the Duschesne Tunnel.

Getting There

Drive along the Murdock Basin road until forest service road FS0027, which is a very rough road that follows Little Deer Creek downhill towards the Duchesne River. You will notice the start of the gorge while heading down, and follow the road through a few switchbacks until in the valley bottom with a small concrete reservoir. Keep following road until you come to the start of the Duchesne Tunnel and Deer Creek Falls
