This is one of the premier areas in the Jebel el Kest with soaring walls along the south side of the valley and multiple areas with opportunities for less committing adventures. Area highlights include the Sanctuary, Lower Eagle and Ksar rock. Many approaches are short (<20') but more substantial hikes in are present in the lower Afantinzar valley closer to the Aougeuenz fork.

Take the road west from Ida Ougnidif to the fork at the top of the valley. The right fork goes to Aouguenz, the left continues on towards the Samazar and Afantinzar valleys. shortly after the fork you will reach the village of Ighir. Turning right will take you to the Samazar Valley (new road under construction as of Fall 2018); staying on the main road (left) will lead you to Afantinzar.
