Description

Very close to the trail, and featuring generally excellent landings, this boulder with “pocks” created by target practice during the war, is a great spot to warm up and get a sense for what gritstone feels like. This is a popular boulder that often attracts a load of pads.

Getting There

If leaving from the car park just off the A6187 road then follow the obvious trail north for ~ 850 m / 2,750 ft / 5 minutes. If you've taken bus #272 from Sheffield and are dropped off at the Fox House pub (an excellent place to grab a post session beer or bite) then follow the well worn social trail that leaves from the back of the pub, through a small gate, and over the moor until it drops down to the main trail for ~ 1,250 m / 4,000 ft / 10 minutes.
