Cliff

Colorado > Durango > Purgatory

Description

This is an East-facing cliff band with good rock. Clay Patton & others put up some routes here in the late '80s. It was called Pickpocket Cliff, I think, aptly describing a section there.

Getting There

One can park by the side of the road 100 yards past the hairpin. Find the game trail up the roadcut following indistinct paths up and right, contouring on steep terrain, reaching a cliff band of good quartz-like rock. Continue along the base to the next cliff.
