Description

Two small domes close to the road with Tuolumne style (knobby) rock.

Getting There

From North Fork, drive a little under 50 miles to one of two options. Or, from Bass Lake, drive Beasore Rd. for 30 miles (slower, some dirt), then turn right on Minerats Rd. and drive a few more miles and you'll be in the same place as the North Fork way.

Option 1 (best): At least a Subaru needed. If coming from North Fork, drive 45 miles where you should then see a sign for Arch Rock on the right. Maybe half a mile past this, turn right on a dirt road that is marked 5s29. Follow this, staying on the main road, avoiding any spurs. At an obvious fork, take a right. The last hill to the camping is a little rough. About 2 miles from the Minarets rd. turnoff to the end. From here, head up to between the domes.

Option 2 (not bad): 2wd low clearance ok. If coming from North Fork, drive maybe 49 miles until a sign actually marks a right turn for Piyau Dome. Drive until you're under the domes and pick your way up to them.
