Description Suggest change

Porcupine Canyon is a picturesque spot with talus (car size boulders), ponds and waterfalls. It makes an
excellent place for lunch. Climbing routes have been cleaned but expect to find some loose rock especially in
the spring after a freeze / thaw cycle (dech’oge is particularly chossy).
All climbs are sport with anchors are paired decent rings. They are accessible for setting up ‘top ropes’, but a safety line might make you
feel more comfortable near the edge. This site was developed in the summer of 2012 under the guidance of
the Carcross Tagish First Nation and the ‘Trails to Success’ program.

Getting There Suggest change

Latitude 60.148484°, Longitude -134.703505°; Between the ‘P’ and the ‘p’ in ‘Porcupine’ on the

Montana Mountain Trail Guide. Access by hiking mountain bike trails or bush crash from the main access road.

Hike up Black Bear Trail and turn right on 'to Porcupine' and then another right onto Porcupine. Follow the trail up about 15 minutes to a rock pile. Turn right into the forest at this pile and when you are on the canyon edge, the access down is to the left side.
