Bonsai Wall

Colorado > S Platte > Devil's Head
Warning Access Issue: Road and Raptor Closures DetailsDrop down

Description

Bonsai is a very nice featured wall in a remote setting. These routes feature some amazing crisp edges and fun movement. The routes are on the shorter side, but there is a lot in the area to keep you busy. You might be kept busy, but I don't expect this wall, with a 50-60 minute approach, to ever get crowded.

Getting There

Start at the Jackson Park approach just like Devil's Gate. This is about 1 mile north on Jackson Creek Road. Hike steeply uphill until you almost reach Devil's Gate. Look for a faint left spur trending due west. Follow this over a small ridgeline, and continue west until you hit Bonsai Wall. It is about 50-60 minutes depending on your fitness level.

[Hide Comment] Between the Bonsai and Supplicants Walls, the corridor that houses them is a great area to chase the shade during the heat of the summer. The approach is well marked from the Jackson Creek side. Although the length may deter some, it is well worth the solitude and quality rock that awaits. Aug 24, 2023
