Description
Several small sport crags containing more than 100 routes are located in a tree-filled canyon a few kilometers NNW of downtown Vipava.. The Bella river runs through the base of the canyon and down into Vipava. The approach takes just a few minutes and there are plenty of climbs of all grades here (4a-8a).
Getting There
Drive uphill from downtown Vipava toward the hamlet of Sanabor. As you are ascending the canyon, you'll see a parking area on the right with a wooden sign. Just left, is a trail and sign post listing the climbing areas.
Follow the obvious stairway down to a horizontal trail. To the right a few yards are some hard routes; to the left is a crag with nearly 100 routes of all grades. Most routes have a name and grade plaque at their base, so figuring out what to do is very simple.
