Description

The pueblo of Pacchanta has incredible hot springs and easy access to numerous alpine endeavors. Most notably is Auzangate 6384 m (20,945 ft), one of the more impressive massifs in the area surrounding Cusco. Up the valley are some established bolted lines, plenty of room for traditional routes/alpine rock and a plethora of alpine rock, ice and snow. Under this section is information regarding the (relatively) easily accessible peak of Parcocaya.

Getting There

From the town of Tinke a taxi can be had for about 50 soles or ~$15. One can also arrive directly from Cusco for a more hefty fee of ~300 soles or $100. Accessing Parcocaya will depend on what route one is attempting but from Pacchanta head up the valley. Parcocaya will be on your right to the North of Ausangate.
