Description
Otherwise commonly referred to by the same name as the main route up the formation, "The Ramp". One of the cleanest towers in East Rosebud, this is a must do if you are visiting the area. This is set in to lookers left of the much more stunning and larger towers to the East.
Getting There
Get yourself to Roscoe, MT, and take East Rosebud Rd up into the canyon. Park in the second pullout after the bridge under the obvious huge formations. Locate the ramp and bask in its beauty.
To quote a friend, "Do not underestimate the approach". It looks so close, but plan on about 1 hour from car to climbing.
Start across the small meadow following a faint trail. Angle slightly left towards some small rolling rocky domes. Find your way up these, ultimately wanting to stay towards the right once you get on top of the small dome. You will not make a bee line for the Tower right away. You will head in the general direction of about 1/2 way between Rosina's Tower and Double Book Dome. Start rock hopping through a scree field, trying to stay on the high point of the small ridge. Just keep going, and eventually you will start to notice cairns. Go almost all the way until this small ridge runs out and then drop down and left and make your way over to the base of the tower.
There are obviously other ways to get there, but this is the path of least resistance. Rock hopping and scrambling > bushwhacking. See attached approach beta topo.
