Grota (The Grotto)

International > Europe > Romania > Brasov > Solomon Rocks (Pietre…

Description

The Grota wall is below the taller triangle shaped Brana section. The Grotto is named after the two shallow caves chiseled into the cliff here. Picnickers have traditionally pissed or pooped in there but don't worry it doesn't smell all the time. There are a few short routes here including one of the easiest routes in the Solomon Rocks. Bring a rope bag because there is some broken glass embeded in the dirt at the base of the climbs. The good part about Grota is that it is super fast to access and a good warmup, it can also be in the shade which is nice because the taller cliffs often get blasted in summer.

Getting There

Walk into the area using the road. Take the left at the junction down towards the old concrete stage thing, it will be on your right, the square holes are unmistakable.
