Description

Along the Parker Ridge Trail (trail 221), there are many granite faces and boulder fields that have yet to be climbed. The east face of Long Mountain has mostly short routes while neighboring areas have the potential for more epic multi-pitch routes.

Getting There

From Bonner's Ferry, head west on Riverside Street through the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge. Riverside Street turns into Westside Road as it turns northward. Turn left onto National Forest Route 634 after driving north on Westside Road for approximately 9 miles. Head to the end of National Forest Road 634 to the Trout Creek Trailhead. There is parking for approximately 10 cars. Hike up the Parker Ridge trail (trail 13 to trail 221) to Long Mountain, which is approximately 3-4 miles from the Trout Creek Trailhead. Routes are on the east side of the mountain.
