Description

This is a small provincial park on the East side of Hwy 99, a little more than 20km north of Horseshoe Bay. Sport and bouldering can be found here.

Getting There

From Vancouver, take 99 N and park in a pullout along the highway at a sign saying "Porteau Road 600m".

From the gravel pullout, walk 100 feet south until a cliff starts to rise on the left. Follow a slight trail up the ramp to a trail forks. 'First Contact' is to the left and 'Watchtower' is right, traversing fallen logs through the slash. There is another separate trail that connects these two directly in a 10 minute hike.
