The Massif!

The Little McGregor Massifs are a large group of mostly shorter crags scattered throughout the Little McGregor Lake area, about 45 minutes west of Kalispell and just north of McGregor Lake. There's a pit toilet, great swimming a stone's throw from the parking lot, and if you're already driving west to the Kila Crags from Kalispell it's only 20 minutes further down the road (or quick detour if you're driving US 2 east from Libby).

While not particularly tall, this rock is the same quartzite found at Stonehill near Eureka, meaning good trad protection and excellent crimping on the sport routes.

As of September 2019, five routes are completed with more on the way!

Getting There

On Highway 2, follow the sign for the Little McGregor Lake forest service campground/fishing access parking lot (the driveway is a few hundred feet east and across the highway from McGregor Lake Lodge). Drive up the paved-then-dirt road about a quarter-mile (stay straight at the three forks) and park in the parking lot near the pit toilet. Behind Camp Spot 77 there is a blocked (bouldered) logging road — follow this road to the crags!
