Description

This south facing buttress is a short drive from downtown Revelstoke. Multi-pitches exist up to 16 pitches and are all on the adventurous side. The climbs are mostly bolted with some areas where gear is necessary to supplement.

Getting There

Drive approximately 3 km West on the Transcanada and park in a pullout across the highway from the Canada West Camprground/RV Park. There was a yellow gate here as of summer 2018. Walk around the gate and straight towards the woods. You should find a painted Columbia Buttress sign hanging in the woods pretty easily marking the trail to the base of the climbs. Follow flagging through the woods switchbacking up and gradually to the left until you hit the first obvious rock filled runoff gully. Go up this gully for a a couple hundred meters, but keep an eye out on the left for more flagging to take you on a trail over to the second gully, where you will head straight up to the base of the approach slabs. A small red arrow was painted on rock near the base of the slabs, evident in summer 2018. The trail exists, but you might not always be able to see your feet through the brush.
