Stutfeld Glacier [Suggest Change]
The Stutfeld Glacier cirque is a wild and active place! Wind, snow, spindrift, avalanches, and serac collapse are all common here. There are no ‘safe’ routes in the cirque, beware. Never the less, this is truly a beautiful place, with many ribbons of ice hundreds of meters long, streaming from deep blue seracs. If you must climb here, we get it, but move fast. And if it doesn’t feel right, turn around.
Getting There [Suggest Change]
Park about 2 k north of Tangle Creek, near the river. Ski up the wide valley for a couple miles, then hike for a couple more. Cerca Del Mar and Full Cup lie on left side of the cirque, Echo Madness is on a spur left of center, but is unformed in this photo.
