Description

A rock formation that looks like an old steam-locomotive, hence the name. It's about a 30 minute walk from Rathen, with some incredible views from the top and dozens of routes on all sides.

Getting There

Approach About 30 minutes from Rathen.

Walk past the Amselsee lake, make sure you're on the eastern side. At the end of the lake follow the forest road up into the woods. keep going uphill and intercept the ridge trail that will lead you to lokomotive. Forest trails are surprisingly well marked on google maps, so it's best to download the area.
