Tick Ranch / The Deep

Description
This area is for bouldering at both Tick Ranch and the Deep. These are the two main developed areas off forest service road 4606, but there is a huge potential for more development.
Tick Ranch is the area up the hill from parking, and just past the sport crag of the same name. The Deep refers to the area best reached by walking the trail along Tumalo Creek for about 15 mins.
Would definitely recommend the Central Oregon Bouldering guidebook to help locate and identify the boulders. There are dozens more established boulder problems here that did not make the guidebook, as they are harder to find. It should also be noted that there are about two dozen Trad and Sport routes at this area, up to mid-5.13.
Getting There
From Bend, head West on Skyliners road, take the next right after you pass the turnoff for Phil's Trailhead onto FS 4606. Drive .1 miles, turn left passing through an open gate (closed in winter). Follow this road straight through a few intersections until you cross a bridge over Tumalo Creek (1.3 miles). Park immediately after crossing the bridge next to a trail map/info board. The location marked for this page is the parking area. There are two approach trails as follows:
For Tick Ranch main area: Hike up steep switchbacks until you hit the cliff and follow the trail left (west) along the cliffband to reach the Tick Ranch boulders.
For the Deep: Take the much flatter trail west along Tumalo Creek for about 15 minutes, past an incredible amount of exposed rock (20 minutes if you slow down to look at it), until you reach the Razor Wall on your right.
