Description Suggest change

Some of the longest moderate routes at Zanpa. Sharp pockets, slab, and large overhangs can be found here.

This whole area is a top-down area (i.e. you must rappel down to access the crag). Please do not attempt to access this wall unless you or someone with you has significant rappel experience. It is also highly recommended to prepare a fixed rope at the anchors and an ascender system for each person climbing in case anything happens that would prevent you from free climbing back up (e.g. injury, rain, waves, etc.). There have been a few incidents where marine rescue has had to be called, which doesn't look too favorably on the climbing scene. This is not an officially recognized climbing area, so its appreciated if you can please try to keep a low profile and do what you can to prevent any bad PR by coming prepared.

If you need someone to guide you or teach you how to rappel and ascend a fixed rope, please reach out to the local climbing community on Facebook here:

Getting There Suggest change

From the lighthouse, walk a 1/2 mi North, looking for the first horseshoe of fence posts after the castle wall. Two bolts in the ground mark the top of the rappel route.
