Addis Ababa Rock Climbing

I humbly submit we should organize climbing in Ethiopia by region, given the growing development throughout the country. Hence, this page is intended to serve as the guide for all routes in and around Addis Ababa. I'd kindly request the host, if possible, move Amora Gedel and Hyena Point areas under this page.

As of May 2018, there are three developed crags in Addis Ababa and all three are located on Entoto Mountain.

The main crag is Amora Gedel, which features 30+ routes. "AG" is primarily a sport crag with limited trad options. Check out Nico Parco''s route guide (topo), which can be found on the Rock Climbers, Ethiopia Facebook page ( facebook.com/groups/1198223…).

The second crag is Dave's Fall/Hyena's Point, which is located on the backside of Entoto Mountain.

The third, and newest crag, is the "Craglette", developed in Spring 2018.
