Description Suggest change

Ilinac is the large south-west facing multipitch limestone crag just north from Omis. Access is easy, the views are spectacular and the routes generally seem well bolted without the need for much supplementary trad gear. There are several routes on the face that are about 200-300m in legnth.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive northeast out of downtown Omis along the north side of the Cetina River on Mosorska cesta. Approximately 1km from the main bridge in downtown Omis, you'll come to a fork in the road. Take the right fork (the left goes up the hill to the village of Gata). Go another 0.9km  along the right fork to parking areas along the river that are paved in red brick (there is a gated hydro project at the very end of the road; you'll park about 50m before that in one of a dozen designated parking spots).

Walk up the road toward the gated hydro project from the parking spots about 30-50m until you reach a concrete memorial on your left. Here you'll find a map of the nearby educational trail that passes by the shrine of Saint Leopold.

Follow several trail signs to the shrine. Along the way, you'll go over two footbridges that cross a channelized creek. At the shrine (on the hillside on the left and behind the fenced hydro project), follow another educational trail sign and cross the channelized creek a third time (do not go up the path immediately to the right of the shrine that is on the left side of the creek coming down from the waterfall). Just after you cross the channelized creek the third time, you'll come to a trail junction with a sign. The educational trail goes up and right; the Illinac cliff approach trail is up and left.

Go up the climber approach trail (on the right side of the creek coming down from the waterfall) about 100-150m. Just before an abandoned building, go steeply up and right on a smaller trail to the base of the cliff. About 100m up along the base of the cliff, you'll come to a small shrine at the base of Rambo and Freedom is an additional 75-100m up the slope (and after a small adit in the base of the cliff).

On your first visit, as you figure out which trail is which, it'll take roughly 20 minutes to get from the car to the base of Rambo.
