Description

This area is not easy to get to but is fun if you want easier routes and like seclusion. The routes here are single pitch sport and are short. It is a bushwhack to get here which adds to its isolation. It is sunny here in the afternoon and is shady in the morning. This is not a horrible place if you want moderate climbs and wish to avoid lots of people.

Getting There

Park on the East Side of Tunnel 6 on the right side of the road. This is the same parking used for The Bunker and the Play Pen. Cross to the south side of the road, and find the trail to The Bunker. You take this trail for a few hundred feet before heading left (east). You can follow a trail that is obviously used by boulderers to get to some large boulders in the trees (the boulders are chalked up). After the boulders, stay about 100 feet above the road heading east toward the rock. There are now many cairns to follow, and the worst vegetation has been trimmed. You can see the rock from the parking. When you get to a steep gully, head up until you can see a good ledge from which to access the rock (look for cairns). Look for bolts on a lightly colored slab. Don’t approach the climbs up the gully from the road, as there is lots of loose, dangerous rocks. You don’t want to hit a car.
