Description Suggest change

Previously dubbed the 5 Star Circuit, the boulder problems up in Solitude Canyon would be well traveled classics if the boulders were sitting down at Gloria's, but instead they are scattered within the drainage below the more popular Higher and Lower Solitude Walls. There's a handful of worthy problems in the circuit, and if you decide to seek out these problems it's best to assemble a posse and hike up with plenty of pads and a mission to send them all, or at least try. The hike will likely discourage multiple visits, so go with a fun crew and plan to spend most of the day up there. Warming up a little at Gloria's may be a good idea before hiking up into the Canyon.

Getting There Suggest change

Park at the Paradise cul de sac. If you’re familiar with Gloria’s simply follow the toe of the mountain around the west side. There is a trail. When you get to the Solitude Wall, head down into the drainage and continue bushwhacking up canyon. The Bathtub Boulder sits just below the tallest section of the Lower Solitude Wall. Brick Toss is about 100 yards further up the drainage. From there it's about 200 yards further to reach the Deer Cave. There's a few boulders in between with a few problems not listed here. See the Solitude Wall crag page for more detail. Slackline and Emerald Forest, a couple tall, old-school lines, are located along the Lower Solitude Wall itself. Walking all the way to the Deer Cave will take about 40 minutes from the car.
