Description [Edit]

The obvious, large granite and limestone canyon on the east side of Notch Peak. It's a lot like West Sawtooth, only a lot closer to Delta. The granite is full of dikes, with a ton of boulders and buttresses with a few routes on them. The main bouldering area only has a few documented problems but people have been coming here for years so who knows what you think you did first vs what was done 20 years ago.

Getting There [Edit]

From Delta travel approx 44.2 miles on Highway 6-50 to an dirt road marked with an old sign saying "Scenic Byway Loop Rd 6-50". Travel North on this road for approx 4.3 miles to the Miller Canyon sign. Drive up the canyon, marveling at the tall but super chossy limestone. The granite at the top is the goods.

I've been exploring around here for years and I hope other climbers will have fun with it. There are tons of problems to do, tons of routes done and that need doing. If you had an ATV and wanted to explore, you could find triple the climbing off the Amasa ATV trail. BTW, coming in from the top of the canyon taught me an important lesson. If they post signs saying, "ATV only", they mean ATV only. Apr 18, 2018
