Endless Bummer is the Bay Area's steepest crag. It's home to only two routes (Surf Safari and Endless Bummer), both of which were put up by Scott Frye back in the day and have served as Bay Area testpieces ever since. The crag sits high on a hillside above the ocean so the routes aren't tide-dependent, but be sure to bring an extra layer because it is almost always windy.

Getting There

Drive down Hwy 1 and find a small pullout (holds 5-6 cars) on the west side of the road 0.7 miles south of Steep Ravine and 2.1 miles north of Slide Ranch. Be sure to use your odometer or put in the GPS coordinates below because there are several pullouts and it can be tricky to find the right one. From the parking lot, follow the climber's trail down the ridge for a ways before it snakes back to the right and meanders down to the base of the cliff. Total approach time ~10 min.
