Description

This area is great for hanging out and bouldering with friends and loved ones. The Cracked Egg boulder(s), with generously-inclined upper slabs, are the most prominent boulders in this area, with more climbing to be done on the surrounding rocks.  Another interesting landmark is the genuine dinosaur skull in the center of this area - I'm surprised it still has most of its teeth. This also doubles as a shady place to store cold ales.

At least one tarp is recommended, as water enjoys relaxing in the rocky basins - wet pads are annoying.

Getting There

Park at the lot past the Bank Campground, and head down the road that splits off of the lot (NW). After about 500 feet, you will see a trail to the right which heads down to the wash. Take the left fork for Cactus Cliff, take a right at the wash, and hike down it for 8-10 minutes. A bit of scrambling is required towards the end.  The Cracked Egg Boulder(s) will be on your left in an open area with a rocky floor. They look like an egg, cracked in half.

Due to the technical scrambling, dogs are kinda hard to take along, but it's doable, you may just have to bushwhack a little instead.
